{ the vault; sky high feathers }
I had been dying to try out a feather manicure from the first time I spotted it somewhere online, but it took me quite a while to get around to it. I ordered some feathers online, waited (im)patiently for them to arrive, and got cracking.
Sadly, I didn’t find it as easy as everyone made it look! First, I tried trimming the feather to my nail size before putting it on; didn’t work, all the side fins of the feather (that were no longer attached to the ‘spine’ fell off). Second time lucky, perhaps? Since I had no cuticle nippers, I had to hold the feather down until it had dried a bit, attempt to trim it with a craft knife (admittedly this could be dangerous for some people; don’t try it unless you are -VERY- steady with your hands!), then slather it in topcoat. It still didn’t want to play well; I ended up picking it off after only two days of wear. Boo.
Still, it was certainly a fun experiment!
